First of all the love of the therapist is an institutional love. The therapist has the task to take care of patient (M. Spagnuolo Lobb, The now for next in Psychotherapy - Gestalt therapy recounted in the post-modern society, Franco Angeli, 2011).
The emotional involvement of the psychotherapist also represents a key component of the care process. The therapist is able to activate this process when his feelings are concrete and real.
The therapist treats the patient rediscovering his hidden beauty. This research by the therapist revitalizes the other's ability to be vital and attractive.
The patient then recovers his spontaneous vitality. He abandons the desensitization of his disorder. The patient is able to recover its spontaneity and vitality, discovering his charm and beauty (M. Spagnuolo Lobb, 2011).
The therapist, with his love, awakens the patient's hidden charm. Through love the therapist therefore rediscovers the patient’s vitality. He rediscovers also the patient’s intentionality of contact that has allowed him to adapt to difficult situations.
Love then allows the therapist revitalize the beauty of the patient and his spontaneity.
