Creativity, lateral thinking and PO thinking

In order to conceive of creativity we can refer to the so-called lateral thinking theorized by the scientist De Bono. Lateral thinking is opposed to the vertical.
Vertical thinking operates in connection to customary and sequential patterns. Lateral thinking instead involves the use of unfamiliar patterns of reasoning. It allows us to move from one scheme to another.
De Bono has theorized the so-called PO thinking. It gives importance to the assumptions and exploration. The PO works through the use of solutions at first sight impossible. It also develops through the combination of concepts not connected. The use of the PO also happens when we seek new solutions even in the presence of an appropriate response.
The user of the OP thinking has an attitude based on exploration and the search for impossible solutions. He wants to break free from prejudice and dogmatism.
In order to stimulate creativity we can use different ways of thinking. We can choose, in fact, a way of thinking based on the information to an attitude focused on the feelings set. We can choose a critical point of view to an attitude focused on the benefits of an idea. A creative thinking requires to employ a point of view focused on the alternatives as well as a mode that deals instead of the priorities.
