Stress in expectant fathers

(This image is taken from the site http://charlasbiblicas.blogspot.com/2010/06/rol-del-esposo-y-padre-de-familia.html).

Taking the role of a parent often means stress. A recent survey by De Caroli and Sagone addressed this aspect. The scientists have attempted to verify the presence of stress in fathers. The study drew a distinction between expectant fathers and fathers with children.
The study showed that expectant fathers perceive a higher level of stress than those with children. This entails the need to provide support interventions for these subjects.
Participation in a specific training can indeed improve the perception of fathers as to their role. Another survey conducted by Borisenko (2007) has dealt with this aspect. The survey found higher levels of self-esteem in participants in these trainings.
The development of stress, however, entails a worse representation of himself, motherhood and fatherhood (De Caroli and Sagone, 2011).
Therefore, action is needed on the causes of occurrence of stress. It must also work towards the reduction of stress.
